I would like to make a comment and suggestion about a May 26 article.
The Municipal Parking Plaza at Greene and Ninth streets sits empty. I feel with all the new attractions downtown and more to come the city/county government should charge a parking fee to use the plaza, and run a shuttle service in the downtown area for business owners, employees and visitors.
This would give everyone a choice to walk or ride, plus this gives the customers more parking spaces. I don't think a customer will stay in a business for two hours, so you won't have the ticketing problem. Then you can use the ticketing officers as added security for the parking area, downtown attractions and businesses.
Save that $2.3 million for something else.
