Says Augusta doesn't need NAACP

What is the most non-productive organization in Augusta-Richmond County? The National Association for the Advancement of Colored People.

It appears that if you have a discrimination problem in this area you are going to fight the battle alone. Blacks are the last hired and the first fired. When this happens blacks have no organization to turn to.

The Augusta branch of the NAACP has no office, no phone, no manpower, no direction, no leadership, no guts!

At least when I was vice president, with tied hands, we did help some people.

With the Augusta Coalition of Equality we helped numerous people. ACE is getting ready to re-organize. I'm sure some people are going to say we do not need two civil rights organizations in Augusta. This time I'll reply you are right; we don't need the Augusta-Richmond County NAACP!
