Editor, The Chronicle:
If the Board of Health in Richmond County is going to dictate how people other than "non-smokers" live and breathe then it must also accord the same dictates to the rest of the people who live here.
The Board of Health and the "non-smokers' rights" group must also ban retail stores from selling perfumes, colognes, after shaves and deodorants. Federal Paper Board must eliminate its foul emissions or close. Columbia Nitrogen must do the same. All public buildings, churches, hospitals, stores, schools and restaurants must ban the use of colognes as well as unwashed bodies. All restaurants must stop using oils to cook food in. Florists must stop selling flowers that have an odor. Funeral homes must also be regulated as to what they can receive as tributes to the families of the deceased.
Fair is fair! People other than the Board of Health and the "non-smoker's rights" group also have a right to clean air. Let's see, what are we going to ban next? Alcohol? Maybe even coffee?
By the way, I am a non-smoker!
