Finds AT&T rules `unreasonable'



I suppose it is good news for 500 people that AT&T will hire in the Augusta area. As it seems with most big corporate entities, it has the upper hand in taking advantage of the job market. It is a shame so many people suffered layoffs in other communities to fit AT&T's need to downsize. It seems AT&T's sole purpose was to create new positions in an area with a lower pay scale to satisfy its corporate hierarchy.

I was an individual who qualified to work with AT&T and would do so gladly if it was willing to work with me. Unfortunately, it is not. It wants to train you at its expense, which is a major plus. On the other hand, it wants to have the option to jerk you into any shift it wants without any consideration to your individual situation. AT&T does not offer any extra compensation for working undesirable hours. If your shift falls on holidays, too bad; you work at the same hourly wage. I am a diligent worker with excellent qualifications, but I want to work for someone who is willing to work with my individual needs which are not unreasonable. ...
