ANCHORAGE, Alaska - Georgia coach Andy Landers wasn't happy, even after No. 3 Georgia drubbed Weber State in the opening round of the Northern Lights Invitational.
"I should probably do a better job of substituting one person at a time instead of two or three," said Landers, who was upset at his team's inconsistent play.
Despite that perceived shortcoming, Georgia (6-1) had no trouble dispatching Weber State (2-5).
Georgia's full-court press, crisp passing and Weber State's turnovers turned the game into a stroll for the Bulldogs. Tracy Henderson scored 14 points and Georgia forced 30 turnovers.
La'Keshia Frett added 12 points and nine rebounds for Georgia. Jill Hansen and Sunny Robinson led Weber State with 10 points apiece.
Unlike Landers, Wildcats coach Carla Taylor was not disappointed with her squad's performance.
"What we learned from this is that we can play very good basketball. That's why you come to a tournament like this," she said. "I don't think anyone expected us to stay within 25 points of Georgia. This gives our kids confidence."
The Bulldogs opened a 30-14 lead in the first half, getting 3-pointers from Kiesha Brown and Kedra Holland-Corn and three baskets from Frett.
Georgia used a 15-0 run in the second half to blow the game open, and led by more than 20 the rest of the game.
Georgia made 12 steals in the first half and held Weber State to 35 percent shooting. The Bulldogs outrebounded the Wildcats 40-35.
