Create a Simpson short

A starry-eyed Homer Simpson once asked: "Doughnuts, is there anything they can't do?"

He might soon be asking the same question about the Internet. Simpsons audio and cartoon clips have long been available in cyberspace, and Fox Interactive has gone a step further with a CD-ROM that lets users view homemade Simpsons cartoons created by The Simpsons Cartoon Studio.

The cartoon studio is a $34.98 Windows and Mac CD-ROM now available in stores. Users can create your own episodes by picking from over 35 backgrounds, 270 props, 50 special effects and hundreds of sounds and Simpsons' voices.

But to see example movies without plunking down $35, you can download the Simpsons player at Fox Interactive.

If you prefer a more passive way of enjoying The Simpsons, there are plenty of unofficial sites with multimedia action and information about the show. One of the more interesting ones is a listing of the couch openings.
