Festival offers Christian fun for area singles

An evening of entertainment and spiritual growth will be offered to singles in Augusta and Aiken at the annual CSRA Singlefest on Saturday, Sept. 7.

The event will be held from 5 to 9 p.m. at North Augusta's Riverview Park. Activities will include dancing, games, singing, learning and music. Bryan Dickert, general manager of radio station WAFJ-FM, will offer a 10-minute devotional on service to God.

"This September Singlefest will be more relaxed than the winter conferences we hold in January. This one will provide more of an opportunity for family interaction and will give singles a chance to be together and have fun," said Dr. Constance Pritchard, a coordinator of the event.

Singlefest is an outreach ministry of Millbrook Baptist Church, Grace United Methodist Church and Aiken's St. John's United Methodist Church.

"It provides a chance for singles to get together in an atmosphere with other singles who have similar values and interests," said Dr. Pritchard.

Cost for the event is $4 per person with a $10 maximum charge for a family. Participants are asked to bring a side dish to share. To obtain a registration form, call Grace United Methodist Church, (803) 279-7525, or visit Grace's Web site at www.csra.net/!grace/singlefst/.
