Writers may be limited to one letter every 30 days. Open letters, letters to third parties and poetry are not considered. Letters from people living outside the Chronicle's circulation area usually are not considered.

Cautions `marcher' on Washington

Web posted December 30, 1998

Editor, The Chronicle:

Wow! Elaine van der Linden's Dec. 28 letter, ``Vows defeat of Mr. Clinton's antagonists'' reeks of a severe rage disorder as she venomously attacks those who oppose her opinion. The Chronicle's three-inch headline ``Impeached'' (as she quoted) was actually only 2 1/4 inches.

Being only the second time in our nation's history to impeach a sitting president, it does warrant a major front page headline -- in fact if the technology existed, it would have been in neon lights!

As for Ms. van der Linden, and her 999,999 fellow marchers who intend to ``throw out'' the treasonous Republicans in Washington, be prepared to face the National Guard if that attempt is made. Now that will get you three-inch headlines and some time in the pokey. Have a safe trip.

Tom Hamorsky, Millen
