Mr. Stathy Verenes

AIKEN, S.C. - Mr. Stathy Constantine Verenes, 83, of Aiken, husband of the late Mrs. Margie G. Verenes, died Sunday, December 02, 2001, at Lowman Home Nursing Center, Columbia. Funeral Services will be held 11am, Wednesday, December, 5, 2001, at the George Funeral Home, Historic Downtown Chapel, with the Fathers Aris Metrakos and Cyril Garrett officiating. Interment will follow at Bethany Cemetery, Aiken. The family will receive friends from 7 to 9 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home, with the Trisagion beginning at 7 p.m. Pallbearers will be Deno G. Verenes, Deno N. Verenes, Neil Flowers, Fred Gray, Dick Verenes and Chris Verenes. Survivors include daughters, Jeannie V. and Michael R. Hart, Columbia, Nancy V. and John C. McMichael, Lawrenceville, Ga.; brother, George Verenes, Martinez, Ga; sister-in-law Demetra V. Gray; and grandchildren; John C. McMichael III, Katherine E. Hart, and Michael T. Hart. Mr. Verenes lived in Aiken all of his life. He was a member of the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Augusta, Ga., a salesman for Aiken Beverage and Distributing Company, member of AHEPA chapter 407, Augusta, Ga, and the CSRA Shag club. The family wishes that memorials be made to the Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, Augusta, Ga. George Funeral Home, Historic Downtown Chapel, 211 Park Ave. SW, Aiken, SC.
