NORTH AUGUSTA, S.C. - Entered into rest Thursday, morning, November 22nd, 2007, at his home, Mr. Augustus Henry 'Johnny' Blease, Jr., beloved husband of fifty-three years to Mrs. Sarah Bryan Blease and son of the late Augustus Henry Sr. and Ruth Williamson Blease. Born in Augusta, GA, he had been a resident of the area since 1954 and retired from Augusta Roofing and Metal Works where he was a Supervisor after thirty years of service. He was of the Baptist faith and was also a Mason. A Korean War veteran, he proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps where he earned the rank of Staff Sergeant and was awarded a Purple Heart. He was formerly a Drill Instructor on Parris Island. 'Semper Fi'. Always Faithful. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children, Augustus Henry 'Chip' Blease, III, (Melody) North Augusta, SC, Pamela Elizabeth Jones, (Jeffrey) North Augusta, SC, and Elizabeth Nicole Godbee, (Joshua) Aiken, SC; grandchildren, Shane Jones, Stephanie Jones, Krystle Blease, and Jesse Jones and great-grandchildren, Zachary and Kaelynn Larsen. The family will receive friends Sunday, evening, November 25, 2007, from 5 until 7 o'clock at Hatcher Funeral Home & Cremation Service, Langley, SC. Funeral services will be private.
