Could we stop blaming people? Because I believe there is enough blame to go around.
I'm bewildered, Mr. Tom Hunter ("Liberal journalism killing democracy," Letters to the Editor, Nov. 6). How can you not even consider the fact that the Republican Party did help with the current situation that we are in? If you haven't heard ,we are spending $10 billion in Iraq and Afghanistan a month.
Oh, and by the way, the current financial problem has nothing to do with theÂcommunity reinvestment act of 1977.ÂIt's coming from upper-middle class (majority) trying to escape the ever-growing minority neighborhoods and buying houses they can't afford and then getting their houses taken away.
It's coming from banks sending credit cards to teenagers and then charging ridiculous interest rates for them to pay back.
It's coming from greedy speculators who are making the stock market into a Six Flags amusement park ride.
It's coming from greedy CEOs who are giving themselves millions of dollars and then when they resign still stay on the job as advisors and get millions of dollars.
Have you ever heard of Donald Trump, who went bankrupt multiple times? You know why he and a lot of other people of his color (majority) did it? They found a loophole in the system were they could buy what they wanted and don't have to pay it back.
Or how about Ed McMahon, who is part of the majority and had to foreclose on his house also.
But enough! Let's try to stop placing blame and let's fix the problem. I believe Barack Obama can lead us out of the turmoil that all of America has put us in. No one race or social status has done that.
