About half of that money went to Schrenko's failed bid for the Republican nomination for governor in 2002, said acting U.S. Attorney Sally Yates.
Merle Temple, the state's former deputy superintendent and Schrenko's gubernatorial campaign manager, and Stephan Botes, the owner of a computer consulting company, also are charged in the indictment, Yates said.
Schrenko is expected to make an initial appearance before a magistrate judge in Atlanta on Monday.
