IN REGARD TO "enough is enough" with Bob Young and his wife: Bob Young's wife is a lovely, kind and generous person and a successful business owner. Bob Young is not the worst mayor we have ever had, as you implied in your rant. Remember, he has no vote on council. Maybe we should blame the one who should be blamed. I don't know what your problem is with Gwen, unless it is jealousy.

I WOULDN'T VOTE for Charles or "Champ" Walker if they were the only names on the ballot.

AFTER WATCHING all the political ads, the only thing I have gotten out of it is that Champ Walker has not been charged with any crimes because his dad bails him out every time.

IT WAS SO REFRESHING to read quotes from Democratic candidate Darrell Blocker in Saturday's Augusta Chronicle. He didn't take the opportunity to bash his opponent. I applaud him for his professionalism and hope he will serve as a role model for other candidates. Based on the respectful way he treated his opponent, Darrell Blocker is the kind of person we need to serve on our City Council!

THE WALKER MACHINE needs to stop putting their campaign signs in place of their competitors, particularly when the property owner does not grant permission. This desperate tactic is wrong and shows a lack of consideration for decent behavior in a competitive arena. While we've come to expect it, we don't have to accept it.

THIS IS A RANT for the Walkers. It seems that Charles Walker Sr. and Champ Walker seem to have something in common. They both have a hard time making an appearance at public debates. Hmmmm ... I guess the old adage must be true - "Like father, like son." When are the people going to get to see what they are "really" all about?

THIS IS A RANT for the politicians. It seems as if Medicare and prescription coverage comes up for the politicians every election year. After the elections, you don't hear anything else about it. You are using seniors for political purposes.

THIS IS A RANT for all the people running for office. This is the time of the year where we should not let our children watch television because all of the politicians are acting like kids! There should be some other way these people get their votes. That is why I have never voted and don't plan on doing so. Whoever gets elected is just going to do what they want to anyway.

THIS IS A RANT. I am sure many state workers are wondering how Champ Walker can make $60,000 on a state salary. People with associate degrees do not get paid $60,000 a year on the Georgia pay scale. People with master's degrees do not start out at $60,000 a year on the Georgia pay scale either.

WE DO NOT NEED Charles Walker Jr. in office. His only assets are his fat smiling face, a cutesy nickname and his corrupt father's checkbook.

VOTERS REMEMBER, Ed McIntyre did not quit his criminal activities because he wanted to make a change. He quit because he got caught! He is not sorry for it, but he is sorry he got caught.

CHARLIE NORWOOD and Zell Miller have both responded promptly and adequately to my inquiries for information for this veteran. Max Cleland has repeatedly failed to reply to my requests, therefore he is not worthy of my vote.

ROBIN WILLIAMS was at one of the senior citizen high rises last week. He is trying to help seniors and those less fortunate. He should get a pat on the back.

THIS IS CONCERNING Georgia House District 79 with Barry Fleming. Seniors should know that he does not care about them. Someone asked him whether he believed seniors should get a tax break on school taxes for those 62 and older. He replied, if he has to pay taxes, so does everyone else. All the senior citizens in Columbia County should think about this before going to the polls. He has no sympathy for seniors.
