Grand Ole Opry veteran Lorrie Morgan performs at 7:30 tonight at the Western Carolina State Fair in Aiken, U.S. Highway 1 North.
The concert is included in the fair admission price of $6.
Ms. Morgan has been a regular cast member of the Grand Ole Opry for 23 years -- almost as long as her father, George Morgan. He was a member for almost 27 years before his death in 1975.
Her hits include Dear Me, Five Minutes, What Part of No (Don't You Understand), I Didn't Know My Own Strength, Watch Me and, my personal favorite, Something in Red .
She reportedly has been working on an album of country standards due out in early 2009 and on a monthly radio show to be heard on the Sirius Network on the Siriusly Sinatra Channel (Channel 75).

North Carolina-born Bucky Covington, an American Idol TV series finalist, will perform at the fair at 7:30 p.m. Friday.
NEAL MCCOY IS BACK IN TOWN: He's at the Country Club, 2834 Washington Road, on Saturday. Tickets cost $20 in advance or $25 at the door. Mr. McCoy is known for his songs No Doubt About It, (Give Me A) Wink, The Shake and Billy's Got His Beer Goggles On .
WINSTON SLADE SINGING: Popular area country singer Winston Slade will join gospel artists Covenant, Christian Harmony and Zach Hawkins for the free Rocktoberfest Christian rally from 3 to 7 p.m. Saturday at the outdoor Columbia County Amphitheater off Ronald Reagan Drive next to the library in Evans.
Attendees are asked to bring food items benefiting the Golden Harvest Food Bank.
The interdenominational event is to launch Driven Ministries, a Christian outreach movement that was started by Evans-based race car driver Free Pennington and his wife, Cassie.
