Seeks exclusive place for bicyclers

Web posted October 14, 1997

Editor: The Chronicle:

The last thing we need in Augusta is more people flocking to the Augusta Canal. The canal is one of the few places in this area where one can get back to nature and enjoy peace and quiet. This is ruined by carnival type events like last Saturday. It was nothing but a money-making event for the bike dealers.

I have ridden my bike when I had to continually slow down because of the strollers across most of the road. Some people don't even know how to stay to the right so people on bikes can get by.

Augusta needs a place strictly for adults and teen-agers to ride bikes (not strollers and tricycles).
