WHO: The newest staff member of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes, charged with leading students in Richmond County's 12 high schools, including his alma mater, Butler High.
WHAT: The former Augusta Colts head coach played for Clemson, helping the team win the 1981 national championship.
QUOTE: "I'm just not your normal kind of coach," he said. "We always prayed before games, but it was sincere. I can speak to these kids. They're my passion."
HIS FAITH: Mr. Diggs grew up in Macedonia Baptist Church. "That'll always be home to me," he said. "My spiritual background was grounded in me by my mom and dad."
HIS FAMILY: Wife, Nadine, and daughters Jazmine, 14, and Jada, 8
FAVORITE VERSE: 1 Timothy 4:8: "For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come."
