TIMONIUM, Md. --- Ben Crenshaw found his long-lost golf game Friday, shooting 4-under-par 66 to take a one-stroke lead over Fred Funk at the midway point of the Senior Players Championship.

Crenshaw hasn't won a tournament since capturing the Masters Tournament for a second time in 1995. That was the last time he led after 36 holes.

The 56-year-old Texan made four birdies on the back nine, sinking long-range putts on Nos. 11 and 17 on the East Course at the Baltimore Country Club. He hit 12 of 14 fairways, only once found a bunker, and didn't three-putt in finishing the second round at 7-under 133.

Funk, who grew up in Maryland, had five birdies and three bogeys in a round of 68.

Gene Jones shot 66 to finish at-5 under, tied with Tom Jenkins (68). Nick Price (66) and Mark O'Meara (67) were among four players at 4-under.

Crenshaw came into the week with only one top-10 finish in 2008 and ranked 48th on the money list.

Augusta native Larry Mize (72) was at 2-over, while former Augustan Allen Doyle (73) was at 4-over.

PGA TOUR: In San Antonio, Chris Stroud moved into position to make a big jump on the PGA Tour money list, shooting 6-under-par 64 to take a two-shot lead after the second round of the Texas Open.

The 26-year-old Stroud, 209th on the money list in an injury-plagued season, had a 10-under 130 total on the La Cantera Golf Club's Resort Course.

Paul Goydos (66), Tim Petrovic (65) and 1997 winner Tim Herron (67) were two strokes back, and Rory Sabbatini (66) topped a large group at 7-under.

Augusta native Charles Howell shot 67 to get to 5-under, along with former Louisville, Ga., resident Brian Gay (67).

Evans' Vaughn Taylor got to 2-under after 68, ensuring he'll be around for the weekend. Former Augusta State golfer Richard Johnson (69) missed the cut, finishing at even-par.

LPGA TOUR: In Danville, Calif., South Korean In-Kyung Kim had four birdies on the front nine en route to 3-under-par 69 to take a one-stroke lead in the Longs Drugs Challenge.

Ohio State alum Mollie Fankhauser shot 68 at Blackhawk Country Club to get within one of the lead. World No. 1 Lorena Ochoa also had 68 and stood two shots off the lead after the second round.

Paula Creamer recovered from an opening 74 with 2-under-par 70 that got her back to even-par.

EUROPEAN TOUR: In Madrid, Spain, Charl Schwartzel overcame illness and a sore shoulder to shoot 7-under-par 64 and share a two-shot lead at the Madrid Masters with Marcus Fraser.

Schwartzel had the day's second-lowest score to join Fraser (66) at 9-under 133 after two rounds.

Steven Jeppesen (67) and Robert Rock (65) were two shots back. Andrew Tampion had 63 that left him five strokes off the pace.

Former Augusta State golfer Gary Murphy (71) was 1-under.

NATIONWIDE TOUR: In Midland, Texas, Marc Leishman fired the round of the day, 6-under-par 66, to grab a three-stroke lead over a group of four players after the second round of the WNB Golf Classic.

Leishman finished the second round at 11-under 133.

On a day when most of the field went low, Augusta's Scott Parel managed just two birdies to go along with three bogeys in a round of 73. He made the cut on the number at 1-over.
