Saturn Vue

WASHINGTON --- General Motors Corp. is recalling more than 42,000 Saturn Vue crossovers because of a possible fluid leak that could lead to an engine fire.

GM said the recall involves the 2008-09 model years. A nut that secures the power steering line could loosen, leading to a fluid leak. The fluid could touch hot exhaust components and cause an engine fire.

GM says it has four reports of engine fires resulting from the problem. A GM spokeswoman says there have been no injuries. Owners are being notified of the recall.

Honda Accord

WASHINGTON --- The federal highway safety agency said it is studying whether to expand past recalls involving the Honda Accord after receiving complaints of its rolling away and crashing.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Adminis-tration's Web site said it has received 15 complaints involving a failure of the ignition park-shift interlock system in the 2002-03 sedan.

In some cases, the key can be removed without the car's being shifted to park. Ten complaints said the car then rolled away and crashed.

The problem led to two recalls during the past five years involving more than 1 million Honda and Acura vehicles, including Accords from the 1998-2002 model years. Not all the 2002 model year vehicles were covered by the recall, NHTSA said.

The government is studying whether to expand those recalls to include 680,000 2002-03 Accords.
