Mr. Charles Henderson

BEECH ISLAND, S.C. - Mr. Charles Creighton Henderson, 83, of Williston Road, died Saturday morning at his home. Mr. Henderson was a native of Lincoln County, and was an Army veteran of WWII, having served in five campaigns. He was a member of the Beech Island First Baptist Church, and a member of Hiram Masonic Lodge # 51 in Danburg, Ga. He retired from Flour Daniel Construction Company and was the son of the late Charles Creighton Henderson and Gertrude Scott Henderson. Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m., at the Beulah Baptist Church, Tignall, with Rev. Frank Hyder and Rev. Fendley Limehouse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. He is survived by his wife, Sara Frances Rhodes Henderson of the home; one son, John Creighton Henderson of Beech Island; one daughter, Frances H. Johnson of Martinez; two sisters, Susie Story of Chapin, S.C. and Wilma Bunch of Washington, Ga.; and four grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Darrel Henderson, John Walton Henderson, Allen Bunch, Thomas Turner, John Mack and William E. Johnson. The family will receive friends tonight, Sunday, from 6 to 9 p.m., at Hopkins Funeral Home in Washington, Ga. The Augusta Chronicle September 30, 2001
