Mrs. Dot Yelton

WAYNESBORO, Ga. - Mrs. Dorothy "Dot" Walden Yelton, 76, of Forest Drive, entered into rest Friday, September 28, 2001, at Burke Medical Center. Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. today, September 30, 2001, at First Baptist Church, Waynesboro, with the Revs. Wayne Dixon and Harold Rowland officiating. Interment will be in Burke Memorial Gardens, Waynesboro. Mrs. Yelton, a native and lifelong resident of Burke County, was retired owner of Southern Auto and Tire, Inc. of Waynesboro, a business the family has operated for 52 years. She was a former secretary of the Georgia Field Trials Assoc. and a member of First Baptist Church of Waynesboro. She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter Hicks Yelton Sr. in 1986, and her son, Walter "Dickey" Yelton Jr. in 1992. Survivors include a son, Freddie Yelton, Waynesboro; two daughters, Nancy Jenkins and Debbie Lively of Waynesboro; two sisters, Evelyn Davis, Waynesboro, Elizabeth Logue, Keysville; five grandchildren, Brandi Quick, Nikki Yelton, Rocky Yelton, Lauren Lively, Boyd Lively; two great-grandchildren, Leslee Quick, Anstin Quick. Active pallbearers will be Johnny McClellan, R. W. McClellan, Hill McClellan, Dicky McClellan, Kenny McClellan,, Keith Walden, Hugh Walden and Emory Walden. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Bonnell, Bobby Neely, Randy Black, Cecil Hickman, Joe Low and Rick Stewart. Memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association Augusta, 1899 Central Ave., Augusta, GA. 30904. DeLoach Funeral Home, 842 Liberty Street, Waynesboro, GA.
