Casa Blanca Coffee Cafe might open in mid-October on the ground floor of the White's Building, 936 Broad St.

The coffee shop will serve drinks including espressos and cappuccinos, rose-pineapple punch, carrot-orange coolers and pomegranate-apple spritzers.

Food will include muffins, yogurt, fruit, bagels, oatmeal, scones, croissants with flavored butters, soups, salads and sandwiches such as a Moroccan chutney meatball sandwich, curry chicken on a croissant, and French brie with sautÃed mushrooms -- offerings that were available from owner Jai West when she owned White Elephant Cafe.

Prices will be comparable to those at Blue Sky Kitchen and The New Moon Cafe.

She said the establishment, which has a mezzanine and a patio with several bistro tables, will have a seating capacity of 130 and will have a "shabby-chic sort of feel to it."

"It's going to be very eclectic but very inviting," she said.

The hours will be 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Monday-Saturday but could change depending on business, she said.
