Balance key to rout by Jaguars

LOUISVILLE, Ga. - Derrick Mathis, Josh Godbee and Tyler Abercrombie scored two touchdowns each as Thomas Jefferson routed Griffin Christian 53-12 on Friday night.

Mathis scored on runs of 23 and 77 yards for the Jaguars, while Godbee ran 42 and 44 yards for scores. Abercrombie scored on a 60-yard pass from Tom Smith and a 25-yard run.

Mathis ran for a game-high 120 yards on just four carries. Tom Oglesby, who scored on an 18-yard run, had 101 yards on nine carries. Godbee ran for 97 yards on only three carries.

Bulldog duo too much in one half

PETTICOAT JUNCTION, S.C. - Frederick Garnett and Jamal Beal scored two touchdowns each as Silver Bluff blitzed Wagener-Salley 34-0 Friday night in a game called at halftime because of inclement weather.

Garnett scored on runs of 32 and 5 yards, while Beal scored on a 38-yard interception return and 70-yard run.

COLUMBIA - Batesburg-Leesville scored 28 points in the first quarter and rolled to victory.

Josh Harris scored four touchdowns, two on 31-yard runs. He also scored on runs of 6 and 13 yards and finished with 126 yards rushing on just nine carries.



Clarendon Hall 34, Wardlaw 0

EDGEFIELD, S.C. - Clarendon Hall jumped out to a 21-0 halftime lead and went on to blank Wardlaw Academy in a game marred by 12 fumbles.

Clarendon Hall (5-0) fumbled eight times and lost four, while Wardlaw (2-3) fumbled four times and lost three.

Taeon Canty ran for a game-high 100 yards on 13 carries and scored Clarendon Hall's final touchdown on a 10-yard run in the third quarter. Clarendon Hall finished with 246 yards rushing on 46 attempts.

Wardlaw was held to minus 16 yards rushing on 18 attempts and finished with just 24 yards total offense.
