From sunset Wednesday until sunset Friday, Jews around the world are observing Rosh Hashanah, commonly known as the Jewish New Year. The sacred holiday marks the start of the High Holy Days, a 10-day period of reflection and judgment that culminates with Yom Kippur, the Day of Atonement.
