Firefighters hose down hot spots from a brush fire Friday on Interstate 20 at mile marker 8.

Authorities believe it may have started when a vehicle caught fire. The Graniteville-Vaucluse-Warrenville Volunteer Fire Department was the first emergency crew on the scene.

Also responding were crews from North Augusta, Belvedere and the South Carolina Forestry Commission.
