Prayer services planned

Services planned and churches open today:

Stevens Creek Community Church (600 Stevens Creek Road) will have a special prayer service tonight Tuesday, Sept. 11 starting at 7:00pm.

The Unitarian Universalist Church of Augusta, 3501 Walton Way, will have hymn singing and reflections starting at 6 p.m. tonight.

Southside Freewill Baptist Church in Aiken has been open all day and will have prayer services at 7 p.m.

Town Creek Baptist Church in Aiken will be open from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. for those with spiritual needs.

Millbrook Baptist Church in Aiken will hold a special service at 7 p.m.

First Baptist Church, 602 Georgia Ave., North Augusta. Sanctuary will remain open after service. (803) 279-6370.

Abilene Baptist Church, 3917 Washington Road in Martinez. Sanctuary will be open to the public for a day of prayer until 9 p.m. tonight.

Regularly scheduled service will be at 6:45 p.m. Wednesday.

WBPI-TV (Channel 36), 1750 Knox Ave., North Augusta, is holding a live prayer vigil. Whole Life Ministries is also joining the on-air vigil.

Trinity on the Hill United Methodist, 1330 Monte Sano Ave., prayer service at 7 p.m. in the sanctuary.

First Baptist Church, 120 Chesterfield St. N.W., Aiken will open at 5 p.m.

First Baptist Church, 853 Liberty St., Waynesboro will open at 5 p.m.

Gilbert-Lambuth Chapel, Druid Park Ave. on the Paine College campus, opened at 3 p.m.

St. Mary on the Hill Catholic Church, 1420 Monte Sano Ave., will hold a service at 7 p.m.

Providence Baptist Church, 3850 Wrightsboro Road, will open at 8 p.m. tonight.

St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 605 Reynolds Street, will have a Holy Eucharist service at 7 p.m.

St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church, 117 Pleasant Home, will hold a rosary and prayer service at 7 p.m.

Woodlawn Baptist Church, 4943 Columbia Road in Grovetown, will have prayer for the nation at 7 p.m.

Wesley United Methodist Church, 825 N. Belair Road in Evans, will hold a service at 7 p.m.

West Acres Baptist Church, 555 Gibbs Road in Evans, will open at 6 p.m. tonight.

Wednesday, Sept. 12:

First Baptist Church, 3500 Walton Way, will hold a prayer service at 11 a.m. Wednesday.

St. Mary's Help of Christians Church in Aiken will hold a 5:30 p.m. mass. The Catholic church closed its offices today to mourn.
