My precious wife Anne went to Heaven one year ago today. I treasure the wonderful memories of her and one of those memories is her love for books. She had a large library and she never left home without a book in the event she could find time to read a few pages. She loved some books so much that she read them many times, but her favorite book was God's word, the Holy Bible. She read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation nine times and was reading it the tenth time when God called her home.
She encouraged our children and grandchildren to read because she knew books would bring them experiences that they could find nowhere else. She loved to teach the Bible to her Sunday School and Kindergarten children. I recall how proud I was of her and her students each year at Kindergarten graduation when those 4 year old children would name all 66 books of the Bible in their exact order.
She not only read the Bible she knew and lived the Bible. There were many times while I was preparing a sermon or Sunday School lesson she would offer a special Biblical insight that helped and encouraged me.
When people asked Billy Graham who is the greatest Christian he ever knew his answer was always, "My wife Ruth." Likewise, my wife Anne is the greatest Christian I've ever known.
Nearly 52 years ago on our wedding day we vowed to love each other "until death do us part", but that love did not stop at her passing. It grows stronger, sweeter, and deeper as each day passes. She is still my sweetheart and the love of my life and I yearn for the day I will see her again in Glory where we will walk arm in arm through eternity with our Savior Jesus Christ.
