If the national media had gone after Barack Obama the way they've taken after Sarah Palin, he never would've made it out of Iowa.

CNN's Campbell Brown was practically livid Monday attacking a McCain spokesman over Palin's experience. It's interesting -- we've never seen the media that critical of the experience level of the man at the top of the Democratic ticket. More about that in a future editorial.

Meanwhile, the media had a field day early this week with the revelation that the new Republican vice presidential candidate's 17-year-old daughter is pregnant. The New York Times actually published not one but three front-page stories on the pregnancy Tuesday. The political left was foaming at the mouth. The hypocrisy! The scandal of a conservative having a pregnant teen!

The only thing that would've made the wackos on the left happier would have been if there'd been an abortion involved. Sadly for the haters, the Palin family is embracing the daughter's mistake and is going to love her through it as she takes the baby to term, marries the father and raises the child -- what Barack Obama once suggested was an unnecessary "burden."

That wasn't enough for the rabid Internet bloggers. They claimed Sarah Palin's new baby with Down syndrome is actually her grandchild -- insisting that the daughter had already given birth. Do the twisted folks producing these fractured fairy tales anonymously in their basement not think that maybe the entire state of Alaska was treated to a very pregnant governor a few months ago?

It's disgusting, and very telling about the "tolerant" left.

The incident is also extremely revealing about the Palins and others like them: They realize that urging abstinence doesn't always work -- but that it works a lot more reliably than birth control. At least they've got some values and are trying to live by them! And, oh by the way, when it doesn't work, they don't go out and execute the innocent offspring.

What the anything-goes political left doesn't get is that Christians aren't perfect -- just forgiving and, they trust, forgiven themselves through Jesus Christ.

It's not a scandal when you mess up and are forgiven; it's a miracle. And a beautiful one at that.
