Woman's ATM card used to steal money
Richmond County Investigators are trying to identify a man who used a woman's ATM card to steal money from her account Friday.
The victim told police that she accidentally left her card in the SRP Federal Credit Union ATM on Broad Street, a sheriff's report said.
When the victim returned for her card, an employee from the bank told her that someone else had removed $100 from the account, Investigator Tim Tobias said.
Three men indicted in July bank robberies
A federal grand jury has indicted three men suspected in bank holdups in Augusta and Waynesboro, Ga.
Donald B. Kelly, 44, was indicted in the July 16 robbery of the Wachovia Bank on Wheeler Road, according to information from U.S. Attorney Edmund A. Booth Jr.'s office.
Mr. Kelly had served 11 years in prison for bank robbery and was released in 2006.
The grand jury also indicted Kellington T. Chandler, 18, and Leonardo D. Hardwick, 23, in the July 7 robbery of Southern Bank in Waynesboro.
Because a gun was fired during the holdup, both men face an additional 10 years in prison. Bank robbery is punishable by up to 25 years in prison.
Man sought, accused of shooting at people
The Aiken County Sheriff's Office is searching for a 27-year-old Aiken man who is accused of shooting at three people Monday afternoon with a handgun from the backseat of a pickup truck.
Willie L. Garrett of the 200 block of Stewart Drive will be charged with assault with intent to kill, according to the sheriff's office.
About 1:15 p.m., a passenger in a burgundy Ford F-150 truck fired several times at people sitting on the front porch of a house on Monetta Street, police said. One bullet pierced the passenger side of a car parked in the front yard.
Two adults, one carrying an infant, hurried inside the house and were not injured.
Detectives said they are investigating whether Monday's shooting is somehow connected to the death of Mr. Garrett's brother, who was killed more than a month ago when the car he was in struck a tree on Monetta Street, the news release said.
Deputy blacks out, hits light post while driving
An employee of the Richmond County Sheriff's Office drove his cruiser into a light post behind the Municipal Building on Monday. The accident occurred shortly after noon when Deputy Danny Key blacked out while driving on Telfair Street, according to Richmond County Sheriff's Maj. Richard Weaver.
Vandal suspected of trying to steal metal
Someone caused more than $3,000 in damage to a steel loading ramp at the Salvation Army thrift store on North Leg Road between Friday morning and Saturday afternoon.
The vandal used a blowtorch to cut the ramp in half in what Richmond County Sheriff's investigators think was an attempt to steal the metal for scrap, Investigator Kendall Brown said.
Man, woman arrested on cocaine charges
Aiken County sheriff's investigators arrested an Aiken man and a Graniteville woman during the weekend after finding crack cocaine during a search of the man's home on Weaver Street.
Lenny V. Williams, 24, is in jail on charges of two counts of distribution of crack cocaine, three counts of possession with intent to distribute crack cocaine within a half-mile of a school and trafficking cocaine.
Iris L. Eubanks, 26, of Park Place Street in Graniteville, is also in jail on a charge of simple possession of marijuana.
According to a news release, sheriff's investigators and the special weapons and tactics units served a search warrant at the home Friday night and discovered nearly an ounce of crack cocaine, drug paraphernalia and a rifle.
The pair were being held in the Aiken County Detention Center.
WHEN TO WATER

Even-numbered addresses: Water on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.
There are no water restrictions in South Carolina's Aiken, Edgefield, Barnwell and McCormick counties.
