Vote for the top singer-songwriter
Your vote counts

A month ago, we asked Augusta's always-impressive community of musicians to submit compositions for The Augusta Chronicle 's sixth annual Singer-Songwriter Contest. As in year's past, the response has been overwhelming, and the talent displayed astonishing. Before the voting begins, The Augusta Chronicle would like to offer applause (and Applause, for that matter) to everyone who sent in their original tracks.

Over the next month, you can vote for your favorites. The three who receive the most votes will perform, along with three critic pick acts, at Singer-Songwriter Contest finals at Arts in the Heart of Augusta on Sept. 19. The winner receives $400 and a big box of CDs; second place receives $200; and third place receives $100.

Paper ballots must be cut out of the newspaper (no copying allowed) and mailed to Steven Uhles, 725 Broad St., Augusta, GA 30901. Ballots must be received by 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5.

You also can hear the songs and vote online at augustachronicle.com/applause. You can vote online once a day through 6 p.m. Friday, Sept. 5.

Reach Steven Uhles at (706) 823-3626 or steven.uhles@augustachronicle.com.
