MARTINEZ, Ga. - Mr. Kevin Cooley, age 48, of Martinez, entered into rest on Tuesday afternoon, July 27, 2004 at the Medical College of Georgia. A native of Scottsboro, Ala. he had grown up in the Atlanta area, attending Wheeler High School, and had moved to Augusta in early 1993. Kevin had begun working in the Automotive Industry with his father at Bill Spreen Toyota, in Atlanta, at the age of 16. He had worked with Ann Taylor in automotive businesses in Atlanta and continued in Augusta where he was currently the Service Manager for the Taylor Auto Group of Augusta. Kevin will be remembered by his coworkers and customers as a devoted employee who always had time to help anyone with their needs. A devoted husband and father, his family will cherish their memories of his time at home playing computer games (Golf), his obsession with keeping the pool clean for others to enjoy and grilling and entertaining with friends and fam ily. He is preceded in death by his father, Roy Cooley. He is survived by his wife of 29 years, Debra Cooley; their son, Matthew Cooley; their daughter, Stefanie Cooley; his mother, Polly Cooley, Marietta, Ga.; his brothers, Keith Cooley, Atlanta, Ga.; Thomas Cooley, Acworth, Ga.; nine nieces and nephews and an unborn grandchild. Local funeral services will be at 11 a.m., Friday, July 30, 2004 from the Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road with Reverend William Harrell, officiating. Active pallbearers will be Allen 'A.J.' Campbell, Adgie 'Grip' Griffin, Eddy Hall, Johnny Ryder, James 'Scott' Smith and David Taylor. Honorary pallbearers will be Kevin's coworkers within the Service Department and are asked to report to the funeral home by 10:30 a.m. on Friday. Further services will be held at 7 p.m., Friday at the Cobb Vineyard Church, 3206 Old Highway 41, Kennesaw, Ga. with his brother, Reverend Pastor Thomas Cooley, officiating. Interment will follow on Saturday, Jul y 31, 2004 at 12 noon in the Chaney's Chapel Cemetery, Dutton, Ala., with, his Uncle, Reverend Dale Haynes, officiating. The family will receive friends from 7-9 p.m., Thursday at the Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Ga. and on Friday at the Cobb Vineyard Church from 6 p.m. until the hour of service.
