Ex-worker charged in hacking case at UGA

ATHENS, GA. --- Authorities have arrested a former University of Georgia employee accused of using the school's computers to hack into the computers of former co-workers.

Georgia Bureau of Investigation supervisor John Whitaker said 32-year-old Eric Paul Krumm is charged with four counts of felony computer trespass. Mr. Whitaker said Mr. Krumm is accused of illegally accessing the computers of his former co-workers at Veit-Americas, a Winder company that sells equipment for the garment industry.

Mr. Krumm was released on bond Wednesday. He had been fired from UGA, officials said.

Mr. Whitaker said the probe into the former UGA computer programmer began with an allegation that he was involved in child pornography. That investigation is ongoing.

Man is charged with impersonating officer

LAWRENCEVILLE, GA. --- Gwinnett County police have arrested a man they say had been posing as a Georgia State Patrol officer.

Moses Roscoe Eaddy, 37, of Duluth, was charged with one felony count of impersonating a police officer.

He was arrested July 18 and released from jail the same day on $11,200 bond.

Security officers working at Idlewylde apartments in Duluth told police a man had been identifying himself as a State Patrol officer.

A 32-YEAR-OLD police officer who is the son of the Eastman, Ga., police chief has been charged with sexual exploitation of children in Greene County. His girlfriend also faces charges, officials said.
