RESULTS: Diedrich set a national record Wednesday in the age 11-12, 200-meter backstroke (2:16.98), and a state record Thursday in the 200-meter butterfly (2:36.60). He has won seven individual gold medals thus far in the Georgia Games Championships, and competes in several relay events today.
QUOTABLE: On breaking a national record Wednesday: "Just to think you're the fastest in the nation, it's just amazing. It doesn't really come together. I never pictured that I could evolve so highly in swimming. I'm just grateful to be here."
