Rants and raves

Comments from our readers:

A RAVE FOR THE individual who turned in an almost full coil of 42-cent stamps (100) to the clerks at the Eighth Street post office in Augusta. A rave also to the clerks who saved the stamps for approximately three weeks. May God bless you all.

A BIG RANT to the meter maids in downtown Augusta on Broad Street. Mark the inside of the tires with your all-powerful chalk! Stop putting your graffiti on the outside out my tires! Get a real job!

RANT TO THAT IDIOT that posted a comment slamming the Soldier Show. Paying 18 soldiers to basically deploy for seven months in the interest of the morale and well being of their fellow troops is hardly money ill-spent.

TATTOOS A SIN? Give me a break. This city's racism, sexism, bias, non-progressive ways are a sin!

DO CITIZENS OF AUGUSTA actually enjoy having their town looking old, broken down, falling apart because "it holds history"? Sometimes I wish Sherman took a left detour on his way to Savannah.

IF YOU REALLY WANT to do a trolley bus study, why don't you ask some of us older Augustans who had enjoyed the trolley bus that used to run downtown?

THE MCG/FOUNDATION wrangle is nothing more than another power struggle. Why does MCG need a foundation in the first place? Is it just to raise donation money?

THIS IS AN ANGRY RANT to people who don't use suicide lanes. Sitting on Washington Road's left fast lane to turn left is not legal and not safe .

TO THE PERSON WANTING to know why people in Iowa weren't whining after the storms like the New Orleans after Katrina: it's called pride, darlin'.

A BIG RAVE for our commissioners for being innovative with spending more money for another study. I didn't know SPLOST could be used for so many purposes. I thought it was for predesignated (known at time of voting by citizens) projects.

THIS IS A RANT TO ALL the hair stylists who talk on the phone, visit with friends and family who drop in, flirt with the male hairdresser one booth over, and baby-sit their children and grandchildren all while I am paying them my hard-earned money to pay me some attention for 30 minutes, and do a good job.

THOUGH I'M SUBSCRIBER, I buy The Chronicle almost every day. Often, I submit rants, but today, it's a rave. A rave for Rants & Raves section for giving people an outlet to let off steam, without violence.
