Rants and Raves

WE SEEM TO HIT BOTTOM then something comes along and shows we're still sinking. Now, a big deal is being made about a dead dog, namely the U. of Georgia mascot. Whoever heard of a DOG being "interred in a private vault"? And a private "ceremony" officiated over by a "Reverend." Do these pathetic animal worshipers believe the dog had a soul? This is very sad stuff for civilized people with brains. (I'm a Georgia alumnus.)

WHAT KIND OF PODUNK TOWN pre-empts a Stanley Cup final playoff game? Oh yeah, Augusta does. I know -- if I don't like it I can leave. Guess what? As soon as I can, I'm gone.

IS THIS RANTS & RAVES? My goodness, it reads like that juvenile MySpace. I like to read about real issues, not people texting each other back and forward. Stick to the issues at hand. Get each other's e-mail addresses if you want to "just" say good morning. Get a life...

WE ALL HAVE CLUBS that we join to have fun and do our hobbies. Why is there always ONE in the bunch that has to ruin it for everyone? If you can't take the heat get out of the kitchen!

A FORMER ARMY SCIENTIST who was the prime suspect in the deadly 2001 anthrax mailings agreed to take $5.82 million from the government to settle his claim that the Justice Department and the FBI invaded his privacy and ruined his career? The individuals in the Justice Department and the FBI should pay this $5 million and not the taxpayers. Otherwise, another giant crime has been committed.

A RAVE FOR NURSE Dorice Wilson on 5D Downtown Division of the Charlie Norwood VAMC. She is a very gifted and compassionate nurse and represents everything a nurse should be. Thank you for taking care of our veterans and particularly my husband. You helped to save his life.

A HUGE RAVE TO Pastor Paul Knox and his wife, Toni, for the incredible job bringing the Dignity Wall to Augusta. Thanks to everyone else not mentioned that took part in this event. We know that days of sleep were lost putting this together and being there all weekend. Godspeed as the wall now leaves Augusta.
