Advance primary voting starts today

Advance voting in Richmond County for Georgia's July 15 primary starts today and runs through Friday at the Board of Elections office, 530 Greene St., Room 104; at the Henry Brigham Recreation Center, 2463 Golden Camp Road; and at the Warren Road Recreation Center, 300 Warren Road.

Voters must provide one of the six forms of photo ID required under Georgia law.

Voting will be held from 8:30 a.m. until 6 p.m. daily.

In Columbia County, ballots can be cast at the Board of Elections office, 500 Faircloth Drive, Building E, Evans, from 8 a.m. until 5 p.m. today through Thursday and from 8 a.m. until 6 p.m. Friday.

Also in Richmond County, absentee ballots issued through the mail are available. A request must be submitted in writing to the board's office.

The application must state the voter's name, address, date of birth, party preference and the election date. Applications may be mailed to the Richmond County Board of Elections, 530 Greene St., Room 104, Augusta, GA 30911, or faxed to (706) 821-2814.

No absentee ballots may be issued or cast the Monday before the election. For more information, call (706) 821-2340.
