ATLANTA - Third baseman Chipper Jones and catcher Brian McCann were named Sunday to represent the Atlanta Braves in the major league All-Star Game July 15 at Yankee Stadium.

Jones, who leads the majors with a.385 batting average, entered the Braves' game against Houston with over 1 million votes more than the next player at his position, Chicago's Aramis Ramirez.

The 1999 NL MVP, Jones made the All-Star team in 1996-98, 2000-01. He homered and went 3-for-3 in the 2000 game at Turner Field.

McCann has made the last three NL squads. A left-handed hitter, McCann leads the majors with a.324 average against left-handed pitchers. He has more homers (15) and doubles (25) than any catcher in either league.

"It's New York. It's Yankee Stadium," McCann said before the game Sunday. "There's a lot of catchers that deserve to go, and to get to go, I'm extremely happy. This is once-in-a-lifetime (chance), to be able to go to Yankee Stadium. The festivities beforehand are going to be unbelievable. I'm extremely excited."
