Copenhaver can succeed as mayor
Letter to the Editor
Thursday, July 7, 2005

I would like to inform you of Deke Copenhaver running for mayor of Augusta. He is a fine gentleman whom I have great respect for, and I think he can change this city.

He puts much emphasis on bringing the cultural diversity of the city together to move forward. That is exactly what this city needs. Augusta is known for its diversity and racial differences, and it is time to put those differences to an end, and make this city a better place. Deke is the man for the job.

Deke also favors making Augusta a more beautiful city, and cleaning up our roadways and downtown area. A younger man such as Deke is exactly what we need. Augusta needs to throw out the cultural barriers and make a fresh start.

I firmly believe that Deke Copenhaver is the only man for that job, and no other candidate can make our city come together. One more term of racial and cultural division could ruin our city. Please let the city of Augusta know that Deke is the man who can help salvage Augusta.
