STATESBORO, Ga. - Mr. Larry Akins, 53, died Wednesday, July 6, 2000, at St. Luke Episcopal Hospital, Houston.

The funeral will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home with Dr. Max Alderman officiating. Burial will be in Eastside Cemetery.

Mr. Akins, a native of Bulloch County, was the owner of Larry Akins Insurance Agency and was a member of Professional Insurance Agents of Georgia, Independent Agents of Georgia, American Alliance of Independent Insurance Agents and Statesboro-Bulloch Chamber of Commerce. He attended First Baptist Church of Statesboro.

Survivors include his wife, Kim Akins; a son, Shane Akins, Statesboro; three daughters, Donna Akins, Christina Akins and Amanda Akins, all of Statesboro; and four brothers, Ronald Akins, Lee's Summit, Mo., Ray Akins, Statesboro, Ralph Akins, Blitchton, and Bill Akins, Strawberry Plains, Tenn.

Memorials may be made to Bible Baptist Church Building Fund, 151 Northside Drive East, Statesboro, GA 30458.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 9 p.m. Saturday at Joiner-Anderson Funeral Home.
