Mr. Grady Hawes

APPLING - Mr. Grady Walker Hawes, 78, of Tubman Road, died Monday, July 3, 2000, at his residence.

The funeral will be at 12 p.m. Saturday at Friendship Baptist Church with the Dr. Philip Dunston officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.

Mr. Hawes, a native of Lincolnton, had retired as a truck driver and was a member of Mount Zion Baptist Church, Lincolnton.

Survivors include his wife, Frances Hawes; seven sons, Cleveland Hawes, Leon Hawes, Rodney Hawes and Waynes Hawes, all of Appling, Garry Hawes, Augusta, Michael Hawes, Lincolnton, and Mitchell Hawes, Hinesville; seven daughters, Francine Wright, Johnston, S.C., Peggy Hill, Evans, and Myrtis Bennett, Eula Burns, Joann Bennings, Everlyn Jessie and Beatrice Lamkin, all of Appling; three sisters, Sadie McCladdie, Lutoria Reid and Mattie McCladdie, all of Appling; and 23 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Gordon McCladdie, Phinzy Bennings, Walker Hawes, Moses Jones, James McCladdie, Charles McCladdie and Walter Johnson.

Friends may call at the residence or Dent's Undertaking Establishment.

The family will receive friends after the services in the church fellowship hall.
