Comments from our readers.

WOODY MERRY IS LIKE a runaway train that is on the wrong track. He is an instigator that sticks his nose where it does not belong and does nothing to improve race relations in Richmond County government.

THE SOLUTION TO THE gas crisis has both an individual part and a national part: first, slow down; second, quit selling food to the oil producing nations.

A BIG THANK-YOU to "Martinez," Stanley and all the wonderful nurses at Doctors Hospital, 5 West where my mother was recently hospitalized.

A HUGE RAVE to the nurses and rest of the staff on the 5th and 7th floors at University Hospital. They took great care of my dad.

A RANT FOR ALL the hockey fans who complained for missing the game. Hope none of them need MCG one day. We are all blessed to have such a great hospital for our kids.

I APPRECIATE THE service of Barry Fleming in the Legislature. I can't wait to see what he will do for this area in Congress!

A RAVE FOR WOODY!! Woody along with about 15 other business people took off work to go to a Coliseum Authority meeting that didn't happen because one man didn't attend. And he was in the building. You're darn right, I'd be mad too! And not to give a reason for his absence is icing on the cake.

THIS IS A BIG RAVE to the Richmond County sheriff's deputy and two Fort Gordon soldiers who stopped to help my 78-year-old husband change a flat tire in 100-degree weather the other day.

THIS IS A RANT about people always talking about how good the hospital nurses treat you. You must have big insurance, cause if you don't have good insurance you don't get good treatment.

JACK PADGETT'S COMMENT about pregnant teens throwing away their future was very thoughtless and plain old old-fashioned. I'll make sure to let my son, who is a third-year education major at Georgia Southern know not to come teach for a board that has neanderthal opinions.

A RANT TO North Augusta city government. Chief Wetherington should be fired for covering up and distributing sexual smut on city property.

MY SUGGESTION TO IMPROVE downtown is to install cameras on each block. Recently a town in New Jersey installed cameras downtown and the crime rate dropped 50 percent.

A RAVE TO THE kind couple who has returned my grandson's backpack.

WHAT IS WRONG with The Chronicle ? You are deliberately going against God and the Bible when you promoted tattooing on the front page of Applause . See and read Leviticus 19:28
