MITCHELL, Ga. - Mr. Jack Hesson, age 71, beloved husband of Mrs. Ruby Hesson of Five - Points Jewell Road died Thursday June 21, 2007 at the Medical College of Georgia. Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p. M. Sunday, June 24, 2007 at the Jewell Baptist Church with the Revs. Mark Parnell and Bill Seaman officiating. Burial will follow in the church cemetery. Mr. Hesson will lie in state one hour prior to funeral services at the church. Mr. Hesson, a native of Philadelphia, PA, was a Warren County resident for the past 49 years. He was a U. S. Navy veteran and retired from civil service at Eisenhower Hospital with 30 years of service. He was a member of Jewell Baptist Church where he served as a deacon, Sunday school teacher, member of the church council, nominating committee, and performed numerous other tasks for his church. Mr. Hesson loved his lord, his church family, his family and his loving wife. His unending desire to help others was felt throughout the community and will never be forgotten. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Ruby Hesson, two sons, Phil (Pam) Hesson, Black Mtn., NC, Art (Darlene) Hesson, Suwanee, GA, one daughter, Cindy (Chris) Mobley, Augusta, GA, Grandchildren, Eric (Brittany) Hesson, Neal Harnage, Christopher Cox, Brandon (Jenni) Mobley, Mike (April) Howell, Dot Howell, Melissa and Kristen Bentley, and Russ and Gloria Gray. Great Grandchildren, D. J. Bentley, Matthew Hesson, Anna Hesson, Blair Howell, Alexis Howell, Joey Hesson, Brothers, Joe (Colleen) Hesson, Jewell (LaVern) Gray, Ed (Jean) Hesson, Nephews, Eddie (Ann) Hesson, David (Joanna) Hesson, Joe Hesson, Vickey (Larry) Brooks, Rick (Gale) Hesson, Kelli (Mike) Frazier, and Scott Hesson. Mr. Hesson was preceeded in death by a son, Steven Boyd Hesson, and parents, Joseph and Henrietta Hesson and Arthur and Mildred Redfern. Pallbearers will be Mike Howell, Brandon Mobley, Neal Harnage, Eric Hesson, Mike Newsome, Jeff Adkins, Lewis Newsome, John Wood, and Mike Carr.
