Adam "Pacman" Jones is a slow learner.

But give him credit. He's a quick forgetter.

Here's what the Tennessee Titan player said after National Football League Commissioner Roger Goodell suspended him for the entire 2007 season for having been questioned by police 10 times and arrested five:

"Last week, I asked for an opportunity to meet privately with commissioner Goodell. I met with him ... to tell him about the steps I have taken to change my life since being suspended by the NFL. I accept the discipline that's been imposed on me and I am withdrawing my appeal."

OK, so apparently, "the steps I have taken to change my life since being suspended by the NFL" include being at strip clubs at 4:15 a.m. on a Monday.

That's where witnesses at an Atlanta strip club put Jones Monday when a shooting occurred causing minor injuries.

Police were careful to note he wasn't a suspect, but was wanted for questioning in their investigation of what went on.

Regardless of Jones' involvement or lack thereof, being at a strip club at all hours is not exactly in the manual for how to straighten your life out and turn it around.

Of course, this is a guy who also was allegedly in the vicinity when a brawl erupted and a man was shot and paralyzed in Las Vegas last February during the National Basketball Association All-Star game.

Now it turns out he faces felony charges in that incident, stemming from accusations that he bit a bouncer at the club and threatened to kill club employees.

Ever watch a man self-destruct? A man who, inexplicably, is choosing late nights and fights rather than the $1.23 million and the untold accolades he would have been paid as a star in the National Football League?

He could have been another kind of role model. But Adam Jones is at least a good example of how not to spend your time and money if you want to get your life back on track.
