Today: The Savannah River Rifle and Pistol Club will play host to public sight-in days at its range near New Holland, S.C., from 2 p.m., until 6 p.m. Don't wait until deer season to sight-in your rifles or pattern shotguns. Targets, stands and earplugs provided. Cost is $10 per shooter, with a two-gun limit. Firing line controlled by club's range officer. To reach range, travel I-20 to Exit 33 (Highway 39 South). June 24: A seminar dealing with depthfinder basics will be held at West Marine, 592 Bobby Jones Expressway, at 7 p.m. It's free to interested persons. More information: 650-1939.

Registration from noon until 2 p.m. Trophies will be given in following classes: Freestyle, bowhunter, novice, ladies, pee-wee, youth, cubs, traditional, limited. Concession stand open. 80-pound maximum draw weight and field glasses allowed. July 20-24, July 27-31: Wildlife Heritage Skills Camp for youths 11-15, stresses history and heritage of waterfowling. Campers will hone their wingshooting skills with hour of daily instruction from Beretta shooting instructors. Experts Eli Haydel and Tim Grounds will teach finer points of calling and hunting ducks and geese. Chris Martin will help campers carve their own working decoy which is guaranteed to bring ducks in like a magnet and they can keep. Camp slots limited to first 64 registrants. Aug. 3-7: South Carolina Waterfowl Association Waterfowl Ecology and Management Camp for 16-18-year-olds interested in making that subject their profession. Management techniques, habitat evaluation, banding mallards and rocket netting wood ducks are covered by SCWA biologists. Tips on choosing the right college, listings of career opportunities. Through Aug. 14: South Carolina Waterfowl Association's Camp Woodie, Wetland Wildlife Center, Lake Marion. For children 8-15 to learn waterfowl and wildlife conservation basics during week-long camps. Waterfowl identification, wingshooting, archery, boating, swimming and hands-on waterfowl programs. Aug. 21-23: The National Wild Turkey Federation's fifth annual Turkey Shoot will be held at the Wolf Creek Shooting Complex near Atlanta. The shoot features a 200-target sporting clays championship (NSCA and Hunter divisions), Winchester Ladies Cup, third annual World Wild Turkey Still-Target Championship and the sub-gauges competition. Sept. 5-6: Third annual $20,000 Jack Wingate Open Team Tournament on Lake Seminole, sponsored by Bainbridge-Decatur County Chamber of Commerce. Practice days Sept. 3-4. Off-limits Aug. 31, Sept. 1-2. Entry fee $150 per team, with Aug. 28 entry deadline. Guaranteed purse includes $5,000 to first-place team, $2,500 to second-place team, $1,500 to third-place team, $1,000 to fourth through 10th places, $300 to 11th through 20th places, $150 to 21st through 30th places.
