An uncanny resemblance

Canstructions created by members of the American Institute of Architects showcased the creativity of its members. The group held the construction event this month at Augusta Mall in celebration of its 150th anniversary.

The food used to create the canstructions will be donated to Golden Harvest Food Bank.

There were five canstruction entries. The winners for each category were:

People's Choice Award: "CANal" by Cheatham/Fletcher/Scott Architects/Hammonds Ferry/Johnson Laschober

Best Meal: "Hammer Out Hunger" by Studio 3 Design Group

Best Use of Labels: "CANal" by Cheatham/Fletcher/Scott Architects/Hammonds Ferry/Johnson Laschober

Structural Ingenuity: "Hammer Out Hunger" by Studio 3 Design Group

Juror's Favorite: "We CAN Mesaure Up to the Challenge!" by Virgo Gambill Architects

Honorable Mention: "Drive Out Hunger" by Nicholas Dickinson Architects/R.W. Allen Construction
