Comments from our readers:

WOULD SOMEONE STICK a cork in W's mouth? Every time he opens it the price of oil goes up.

THIS IS TO ALL THE merchants, lawyers, doctors, radio stations, TV stations and newspapers of Augusta. I think it is a crying shame that you cannot help support the veterans who have served this country and died for us. With the Vietnam wall coming to Augusta you would think that you would at least donate $5 toward the cost of bringing the wall here.

AM I THE ONLY GUY OUT HERE that hates the constant barrage of weather interruptions to TV programming? The National Weather Service is the worst. That harsh klaxon sound, the computerized voice, and then the harsh klaxon sound warning you they are done! How 'bout a ribbon at the bottom of the screen -- and then leave us alone!

RAVES to Joe and The Pollock Co. for their generous support of this year's Steak and Burger Dinner benefiting the Augusta Boys/ Girls Club.

I WAS SITTING UP with my young daughter watching old movies on a well-known old movie channel. During the entire time we sat there we were bombarded with advertising with regard to men's sexual needs. They were beyond just the average smiling hint that most commercials have (which is bad enough) these were very descriptive.

RAVES TO Lt. Gov. Casey Cagle, Columbia County Sheriff Clay Whittle and NewsChannel 12 for recognizing the men and women of the CCSO for the invaluable contribution to the safety of county residents that these law enforcement professionals make.

RICHMOND COUNTY PROPERTY tax assessments have gone up in Harrisburg but houses are selling at all-time lows. Mercy Ministries is a blight to our neighborhood and has further reduced property values. Richmond county tax assessors, get a clue! Reduce the property values to reflect reality. We see a class action lawsuit brewing.

KUDOS to Bulldog Coach Mark Richt for his mission trip to Central America and his morale-building trip to visit our troops in Europe and the Middle East. Richt is a good man who, by the way, happens to be a pretty successful football coach at a little school in a little town where highways US 78 and US 441 intersect.

IF DR. AHMADIE won't remove the gang symbols from his property the city should send a crew out to do it and send him a bill. If he won't pay for it, put a lien on his property.
