MACON, Ga. -- James Brown paid a visit over the weekend to Otis Redding's hometown, where the Godfather of Soul and Redding's widow gave awards to six pioneering Macon DJs.

Afterward, Brown broke into an impromptu version of ``I Got You (I Feel Good),'' complete with spins, shuffles and a few throaty wails that brought the crowd to its feet Saturday night.

Then he began singing an a capella version of Redding's ``(Sittin' On) The Dock of the Bay,'' but he didn't finish the number.

``Nobody can do it like Otis,'' Brown said.
