The inaugural Thunder Over Augusta, a city-centered salute to the armed forces, will be held today downtown. The event will include a performance by country singer Lee Greenwood, military exhibits, a parachute demonstration and a fireworks display that organizers promise will be the largest in Augusta. The event, spread over four locations, will feature music by local acts, a performance by the Old Guard Fife and Drum Corps and a variety of family-oriented activities.
