Rants and raves

AUGUSTA AND COLUMBIA COUNTY developers are really great at chopping all trees and turning every little bit of green space we have into a dead field. Old trees have character. We need more protection and better laws, or we end up with nothing but concrete.

SINCE OIL IS PROJECTED to double in four years, are we going to put in more bike paths and lanes? It's not as if we have to put up with five months of snow.

A BIG RAVE FOR DORIS and her husband in the burgundy van that found my wallet and brought it to me. God bless y'all. There are more good people out there than the rotten ones.

GREED IS THE REASON we are paying high fuel prices.

JOHN MCCAIN WILL GET destroyed by either Democratic candidate. How can he defend unbelievable gas prices, a war that cost $200 million a day that no one wants, and a recession? I can't wait!

ALL I EVER HEARD WAS that Jimmy Carter was responsible for high gas prices. Now that George Bush has completely disgraced the office of president, along with a stupid, expensive war and astronomical gas prices, I don't hear a peep. Not a word.

BUTCH PALMER SAYS what needs to be said. The man's got guts. He understands our need to return to decency. If he were to run for commission, I would vote for him.

HEADLINE READS : "Obama blames gas prices on Washington." Ha! Obama IS Washington.

WHY IS THE CITY spending tens of thousands of dollars on fuel every week for a transit system that nobody rides? Every time I see a bus it only has five or six riders, or it's empty.

I HAVE STOPPED GOING to movies. They are way too expensive.

A HUGE RAVE TO the person who found my cell phone at the Evans Wal-Mart. Thank you for restoring my faith in my fellow man.

THE BIGGEST WASTE of gasoline is people's senseless, meaningless driving around just for the sake of it.
