Fun dates build friendships

The typical teen date consists of going to a movie and grabbing a bite to eat afterward. Though those kinds of dates are nice, they're not much fun.

Those are boring dates that aren't creative or sincere -- there are lots of other options.

Visiting the zoo, fishing or visiting a park for a picnic are a few fun date ideas. They're interesting, exciting and eventful: three characteristics of a good time that can help build a great friendship or relationship. Going to the park, you can enjoy something to eat that was made from the heart, not bought like a burger.

When you go fishing, you can enjoy a whole day talking to and getting to know your date.

A word to the wise: Nobody likes a chatty date, but it's still good to talk to let your date know something about you.

Also, don't be afraid to hold hands or hug on the first date.

Simple things like this can win over any girl or guy's heart.
