THURSDAY: The Coastal Conservation Association will hold its spring barbecue at 6 p.m. at the River Island pavilion off Blackstone Camp Road in Columbia County. Dinner will be served at 7:30 p.m. The speaker will be Spud Woodward, assistant director of marine fisheries for Georgia's Wildlife Resources Division. SATURDAY: A U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary boating course will be held at Thurmond Dam Visitors Center at 8:30 a.m. Partici-pants can bring their own lunch or drive a few miles to a restaurant.
